SolidWorks Basics – Assemblies

SolidWorks Assemblies allow you to build complete working products component by component. They are the building blocks used to take your design, step-by-step, to the final product. They allow you to add constraints between components, test motion, check interferences and check for collisions.

This Wednesday’s webcast will explain from the ground up everything you need to know to get to grips with the fundamentals of creating assemblies inside SolidWorks. We will explain exactly what the purpose of an assembly is, look at how to restrain components, and also explain some of the useful options when working within an assembly.

You can expect to see the following:

  • Inserting Components
  • Adding Mates
  • Component States
  • Configurations

This 20 minute webcast is suitable for those who have recently completed, or are due to complete, the SolidWorks Essentials training course.

SolidWorks Tips and Tricks – Assemblies

So you’ve mastered the basics of assembly modelling in solidworks and are now looking to improve your workflow by reducing your design time. This webcast will give you some pointers on how to take your assembly modelling to the next level.

Creating Assemblies can be repetitive and you will often find yourself prompting the same commands over and over. The time taken to complete an assembly though, can be reduced through the use of shortcut menus and a little customisation.

Wednesday’s webcast will take a look at a selection of Tips and Tricks that can be incorporated into your everyday SolidWorks assembly workflow in order to increase efficiency and reduce modelling time.

You can expect to see the following:

  • Speeding up standard assembly operations
  • Looking at some less well known Assembly Tools
  • Pack and Go
