Overview

Cadtek’s Extranet tool is an add-in to SolidWorks that lets you interact with the services Cadtek provides to our supported customers directly from within the SolidWorks interface. You are able to open video tutorials, hints and tips, all recorded weekly webinars, log support requests, register for webinars and book for events such as the annual upgrade days.

Product activation reminder

If you regularly release your licence for use on a second machine this useful feature can be turned on to either remind you on closing SolidWorks or you can set it to launch the activation transfer window automatically when you exit the application.

Pre-Requisites

Extranet V6 is designed for use on a 64bit operating system and can be used for versions of SolidWorks from 2015 onwards.

Installation

To install the Extranet V6 you must uninstall any previous versions using Windows Uninstall (Control Panel). Unzip the download file and extract the contents. Double click on the setup.exe installation file to start the install.

Additional Notes

If you have installed a previous version of the extranet you will need to uninstall this using add/remove programs.

Close SolidWorks and Install the new extranet tool using the setup.exe

Accept the default options using the next button. Launch SolidWorks. Under the Tools > Add-ins menu check the Extranet Add-in.

Troubleshooting

Under some circumstances such as using older versions of SolidWorks, operating under network licensing or very recent activations the automatic authentication of your SolidWorks seat ID may not work. You will get a notification on screen if this is the case. Please contact support@cadtek.com for us to investigate further.

Instructions for use

The extranet tool provides the following pieces of functionality;

a) Log a support call. When you click on this button you are presented with a supprt logging page. Select your name from the drop down list and provide details on the support issue. If your name does not appear in the list contact support to have your name added to our support system

b) Access the video and webinar library. The Cadtek wesbite has a Customer Zone that will be used to provide access to customer specific content such as the latest versions of Upgrade Videos. Using the extranet tool you will be automatically authenticated and allowed access to this area.

c) GoTo Assist. This quick link will allow you to launch GoTo Assist with the code supplied by a support engineer from directly within SolidWorks.

d) Product Activation reminder. To turn on this feature first open any document, then go to File > Extranet Options
